Evocative personal branding photos for Psychologist on dartmoor

This personal brand shoot was a dream to work on, and I’m thrilled to share some of the images I created for Kirstien who is a psychologist, coach, educator, counsellor, and the founder of the Field of Possibility.

Working with Kirstien was a true joy. She gave me complete creative freedom to come up with ideas to approach these personal branding images for her - which is always a boost for the creativity. She approached me with a very open brief; she wanted imagery that would capture the depth of her work in an evocative and meaningful way, translating expansiveness, playfulness, and different states of mind, which are all core aspects of her practice.

I thought of several locations that aligned with these themes and ultimately chose a beautiful tor on Dartmoor that has breathtaking panoramic and expansive views. It felt sunrise would be the perfect time to do the shoot because of the beautiful soft light, which I felt would suit the atmosphere I was trying to create.

So we set off before sunrise, drove to the moors in near darkness, only to discover an unexpected, dense mist when we got there! We decided to persist though and work with the elements. The mist was so thick that we struggled to find the tor, but as we reached the top, the sun began to break through slowly. We both felt, the mist actually created a magical element to work with and I was glad we persisted.

Capturing these moments in such a peaceful and powerful setting perfectly reflected the openness, playfulness, and grounded energy Kirstien carries. Next to creating some lovely images, we ended up having wonderful chats about life, work, relationships and after have seen the sun come up left the Moors with big grins on our faces.
